Skin is exposed to potentially dangerous threats while outdoors, including UV radiation, wind, temperature extremes and biting insects. To minimize skin damage and other potential health threats always follow the SIMPLE rule:

S = Sunscreen – use an SPF 15 or higher broad spectrum sunscreen.
I = Insect Repellent – use an effective insect repellent when biting insects are present.
M = Moisturize – use a quality moisturizer to minimize transepidermal water loss.
P = Protect – wear protective clothing, hats and sunglasses.
L = Limit – limit your exposure to sun, wind, temperature extremes and biting insects.
E = Educate – learn about outdoor skin threats and be aware of your surroundings.
